I am a CNRS tenured research fellow based at Paris Dauphine University- Leda (Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches).

 

My work aims to document the evolution of contemporary international finance and how it interacts with the public sphere, in particular central banks and governments.  My research is applied and situated: my dissertation focused on the Argentine crisis of 2000-2002, and then the important parallels with the sovereign debt crisis in the Eurozone in 2010-2012 naturally led me to pursue my research program on the Eurozone. Since then, I have extended my research questions to the economics of tax havens as a way to explore the interaction between capital markets and the (diminished) fiscal capacity of sovereigns.

I have been visiting Princeton University in 2014-2016. It was incredibly exciting. Before that, my first academic position was Lecturer at the Hong Kong UST (2006-2008); I have then proceeded as an associate Professor at Rouen Business School and a scientific advisor at OFCE (2008- 2013). When I went back from the States, I took the position of Deputy Director of CEPII (2016-2020).

I have been a CEPR Research Affiliate since 2012; I am currently chair of the Financial Markets Commission of the CNIS, an independent body bringing together producers and users of the French public Statistics. I have been a member of Conseil d'Analyse Economique (Council of Economic Analysis), an independent advisory body reporting to the French Prime Minister from 2017 to 2019.

I am from Paris and yet I love outdoor activities (among which kiteboarding when I don't break my leg). I have two amazing kids, both smart and funny.
